ENGLAND – Fernando Torres has yet suffered from another injury and that one could put his £50m Chelsea deal in doubt. He suffered a hamstring injury and may miss the first month of the English Premier League.
Torres, who recently picked up a winners’ medal in the final yesterday night, pulled up in extra-time clutching his hamstring and is expected to miss the first month of the domestic season.
He recently recovered from an ankle injury and was relegated to the Spanish bench due to lack of form during Sunday night’s final with Netherlands.
Torres, 26, has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich gave the green light for what would be the biggest domestic transfer in Premier League history last month.
However, the increasing frequency of Torres’ injuries, along with the Spaniard’s apparent loss of form, means the deal could be dead.
